Laura's Curls Gets Baked!

September 19, 2017

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post for Union - it has been a busy summer! As most of you know, our salon has our very first apprentice ever - Laura! Laura has been a receptionist with us for two years and during her time here she realized she wanted be a hairstylist. Her excitement is infectious - it's going to be a great two years having her in the salon to learn!

As an apprentice, not only will she be receiving her hands on learning directly from us at Union - she may just be a guinea pig at times as well.

Surface has treatments you can add on when coming to Union. Laura has amazing curly hair and myself (Jamie) and Daisy got our hands on it to bake some moisture in. A Surface "Curls Bake" is a wash and style beginning with Surface Curls Shampoo, followed by a wonderful head massage at the shampoo bowl with Surface Curls Masque. Instead of rinsing the Masque out, we leave it in as a treatment and "bake" it into the curls using a diffuser or relaxing under the dryer chair. The end result is soft, beautiful curls. Laura's curls looked ever BETTER the next day.

Laura says she never diffuses her hair because she has "90's curls". Well Laura -- I think after this experiment you should definitely be wearing your curl more often :). Pictures include the Masque, before and after treatment (indoors and outdoors).

If you are interested in a Surface treatment, ask your stylist next time you're visiting Union.
